We have been desired by John Thornton Esquire,
Secretary
Colonial Secretary of Tobago, and by the Honorable Major Caine, Sheriff of Hong Kong, to procure for each of them a copy of the Colonial Regulations
issued in 1843; but on application to Messrs
Clowes & Son,
we were informed
that no copies of
the said Regulations could be entrusted to us without your Lordship's sanction.
We beg leave therefore to request the favor of your Lordship's permission to receive two copies of the said Regulations, being one copy for each of the two gentlemen above named; and trusting to be favored with an answer to this application at your Lordship's early convenience.
